A Foundation Built on Peace and Heritage

The Kiriji Heritage Conservation Foundation is a cultural, historical, and developmental organization established to preserve, promote, and immortalize the heritage of the historic Kiriji War and the peace treaty that brought unity among the Yoruba people after one of the longest civil conflicts in Yoruba history.

Founded with a vision of peace, cultural renaissance, historical preservation, and socio-economic transformation, the Foundation is committed to conserving the legacy of the Kiriji Peace Treaty while transforming the historical landscape into a global center for peace dialogue, heritage tourism, cultural exchange, education, and sustainable urban development.

The Foundation draws inspiration from the historic peace accord signed in Imesi-Ile in 1886, which ended the devastating Kiriji War fought among various Yoruba kingdoms. This treaty remains one of the most significant indigenous peace agreements in African history and symbolizes reconciliation, diplomacy, and collective progress among the Yoruba people.
